There are lots of options other than Engineering and Medicine. First you gotta know what you're really interested in. Ask a few questions to yourself about each course, and how you'd fit into each profession.
I'd recommend that you talk to different people on the options available and how each of the industry is flourishing. Some people might force you to take up a certain course which they find fascinating. Don't fall for that! You're the boss.
You can also try career guidance counselors who can help you find out what your interests are and which job would suit you best. They also update themselves about the scope in each industry and about the growth you can achieve. Approach a guy, or an agency which is popular in your town.
Think also in terms of the growth that you're going to achieve in the area that you're going to opt for in the next 5 years after you graduate.
But whatever you opt for, make sure that you do what you like, and if you love what you're doing, you'd succeed in your profession, even you have bad times in the beginning.

Oh theres a lot u can do after ur 12th other tham engineering and medicine, for examples, oceanography, Information Technology, banking, share trading, management in various places, lawyer, etc.
My suggestion for u is to go and meet a Career Counsellor and ask him to assess u and let u know what fields u might be suitable for, this way u won't end up making a mistake as career counsellors very rarely make mistakes.
