My conclusion is that getting a professional treatment goes above and beyond what an at-home kit can do because you are under the care of an expert that can thoroughly clean your pores and use professional ingredients that, after your skin is microdermabraded, will penetrate much better and quicker. Plus the machine used cost thousands of dollars so the technology is unsurpassed. At home kits in my opinion, unless they are coupled with some sort of AHA, are glorified facial scrubs.

Dermanesse introduces the first and only microdermabrasion you can do yourself that actually works just like a doctor's treatment...with comparable results! The Dermanesse Professional Microderm-abrasion System includes our patent-pending crystal-bonded DermaSponge applicators embedded with the same aluminum oxide crystals used in expensive medical microdermabrasion machines.
Dermanesse actually removes a layer of dead, damaged skin cells just like a doctor's treatment. This stimulates the production of collagen and eslastin in the skin making it thicker and stronger. That's how professional microdermabrasion reduces the appearance of wrinkles, fine line, acne scars and other blemishes. Other so-called home microdermabrasion products are superficial and can't stimulate enough to strengthen skin the way a doctor's treatment does (see the comparison below). Our safe, exclusive 4-Step process is so effective at reducing blemishes that we'll send your money back If you don't see visible improvement within 30 days.
What is Microdermabrasion?
The Dermanesse Professional Micro-dermabrasion system is safe, easy and convenient to use. Instead of expensive treatments miles away at a doctor's office, or home products you have to use every day for superficial results, use the Dermanesse system just 3 minutes every other week for professional results that last and last. Though many people experience results the first time, the best results come after all 6 applications. Microdermabrasion medical study

Actually - Mary Kay has an awesome product right now - it's non-comedogenic, clinically tested for skin irrtancy and allergy and termatologist tested. It replenishes and refines your skin - you can use it once a week or less if you want. It works just as good as the expensive in salon treatments.

My advice...Stop the breakouts and use something that is actually good for your skin. I have been using Nu Skin Clear Action® and it doesn't compare to any other. My skin chemistry changes all of the time and I still never have a problem.
Here's the site check it out.

I love Lancome's "Resurface-C Microdermabrasion". It's quite an investment and a bit expensive but totally worth it. You use it twice a week and it gives the face such a healthy glow that I feel like I don't even need make up!
