Like why would you want to use expire, why can't you just use passed away.. it would sound better anyway and more polite. e.g my relative expired today or my relative passed away today. see it sounds better or even my relative died today sounds better but you wouldn't really say that.

Seems a bit clinical and cold. I mean, you can say it as a doctor or attending nurse and I think it sounds fine, maybe as the CSI rep on the crime sccene.. But for family?
"Uncle Bill expired last night" sounds like he's a carton of milk that has gone bad from sitting in the fridge too long.

I dont think it is ok to use the word expired. hello, that's the word we use for library cards. iSNT A human life much more impotant?
we should respect a person who has died and not use cheap synonyms like expired.

Technically, yes.
The equivalent word in Italian - spirare - is in fact used for the last breath - respiro - so the "expired password" is a password that has breathed the last breath... so to speak.
However, I never really heard this term used in English for death. Rather, I would use "passed away", "died". To die is not a bad word... we are just sometimes shy to use it.

You could say that and it would make sence, however people might think you were being insensitive, because it sounds like you were talking about food.
