I want to speak to this person in the US, quite high up . I'm writing him a mail , Is it okay to say
“I am looking forward to speaking to you sometime soon, whenever you have the time.”
Or is there a better way of saying it?

At your convenience, I would like to speak to you.

but your way is ok too..the least words you use to say the same thing is better...correspondance should not be wordy or boring..don't waste the readers time with flowery salutations. I get this from my wifes relatives in the Philippine. They start out with a bunch of marlarkey and things..but it just waste the readers time with this type of writing.

I assume you are looking at a closing statement?

"I would be very happy to talk to you in person or on the phone, at your earliest convenience"

"if you can spare some time, I'll appreciate the chance to speak with you directly about all this"

"I'll look forward our up-coming conversation, depending on your availability"

Cut and paste what you feel more in your tone... :) use words that feel right to YOU, not something premade and cut. When one read an introduction letter or form, it is very obvious: make it personal, make it stand out.
