It is true that there is no biblical reference to infant baptism - this practice did not start until at the very earliest the third century.

However, if you want an appropriate biblical text to put on a gift for a child, what about Numbers chapter 6 verses 24 to 26?

Depending on which version of the Bible you use, it says:

24 " ' "The LORD bless you
and keep you;

25 the LORD make his face shine upon you
and be gracious to you;

26 the LORD turn his face toward you
and give you peace." '

As others have said there are no scriptures directly relating to the baptism of babies, the reasons why are for another time and another question, but if you want some scriptures to engrave have a look at the following suggestions:

Matthew 19:14 Jesus said "let the little children come to me"

Proverbs 22:6 Teach your children right from wrong, and when they are grown they will still do right.

Proverbs 3:5,6 With all your heart you must trust the LORD and not your own judgement. Always let him lead you, and he will clear the road for you to follow.

Psalm 127:3 Children are a blessing and a gift from the LORD.

Hope this helps

From very early in Christianity, infant baptism was practised, and quite possible from the time of the Apostles when whole 'households' received Baptism, no doubt infants as well -Acts.16:15, 33; 18:8; 1 Cor 1:16. Could engrave- may you grow in faith- as Baptism helps us to grow and is essential for Salvation.

Yes, do you know what the bible says about infant baptism. This:

That's right. Absolutely nothing. It's not biblical. Only baptism with at the request of the one being baptized. However, you can dedicate your baby to the Lord.

There is no scripture for that purpose as the Bible does not teach that children should be baptised. Think of Jesus as an example. Was he a mere babe in arms at his baptism? No! Jesus was an adult. Today also we should only be baptised when we are old enough to know what it means.
