So far it seems that everyone responding is white, rich, ect. I'm not 100% sure of that but it seems that way since any questioning of the police status quo brings thumbs down and racist answers. Who is really out there?

Well I'm a police officer which means I'm not rich. I'm also not racist or a republican. All that fits of your profile (Profiling is ok for you to do, but the moment I do it as an officer, you would be all over me screaming about a violation of rights. I find that funny.) is that I'm white. I see very little difference between someone who is racist (hating someone for their race) and someone who is prejudice (hating someone for any reason you can come up with). To me they are both the same. And you my friend are prejudice. Lumping everyone who reads the law enforcement section of yahoo answers into the same general category of being white, rich, and republican. Its just not true. I don't know where you get the idea that we are all white and rich, but I can explain the republican part of your question.

A lot of the people in this section of yahoo answers are police, military, or pro police and military people. These kind of people are generally the type of people who see a problem and do what it takes to fix the problem no mater whose feelings get hurt. They are people who take action. Now look at your Republicans and Democrats. Your Republicans take action and try to fix the problems with few exceptions. Your Democrats sit around and debate and try to pick the course of action that does not step on to many toes. Your Republicans are very pro police and military type of people where as the Democrats generally are not. Most of our Military cut backs came during a time when the Democrats ruled the parties.

Now like I said in the start, I am not Republican or Democrat. I believe in the right person for the right job, but I usually side Republican.

I am a retired law enforcement officer, white and diffinately middle class and a conservative republican. You must be a flaming liberal democrat. What makes this country great is that we allow such differences to happen. You are also absolutly anti- police and/or anti-gov't. Again, this country allows such differences of opinion to occur. It does'nt mean we are racists. It simply means that we have a diffence of opinion. The Police can't make everyone happy. Sometime they have to do there job and make someone unhappy. Our jails are filled with criminals. They got there because the police did there job. Would you be happier if those criminals were out in the street while the Democrats formed a study panel (at tax payer expense) to delve into why they are criminals and how has society failed them. You sound like part of the problem and unwilling to work towards a solution. You just want it your way...Good Luck

NO, I'm not a Republican...

I'm out here, just reading and answering away. While I'm white, I am not rich with money, I am in Law Enforcement and have been for 22 years, and certainly don't fit the status quo.

I am White.
I barely live paycheck to paycheck and in constant fear of whether I will get my electric bill paid before they disconnect me.
I am NOT republican. in fact I am not registered with ANY political party. I am however very ANTI- Liberal.

You and everyone else that keeps getting the thumbs down on their answers need to ask yourselves why. It is obviously not because we are all White rich republicans as you claim.

Maybe it is because the "Police Status Quo" as you call it is no such thing. Maybe it's the TRUTH. and those of you who answer against it with all sorts of Anti-cop mentality ar nothing more than scum and criminals who want everything given to them (or take it at force).

I have found very few Cop-haters who are also good upstanding people. Most people who hate cops are those who have a reason to fear cops. Fear them because of their own idiot choices and lifestyles in being criminals, drug dealers, theives, rapists, molestors, etc...

If being a person who respects others and tries to do the right thing, who respects law and order is your definition of a republican. well then. Maybe I ought tro just go register myself as a Republican then.

You (and others with the Anti-cop mentality) have a Criminal mindset.

A Burglar Breaks into a home. He is robbing the place blind.

A Neighbor spots him and calls the cops.

The Cops show up and bust the Burglar. He goes to jail

Question to ask yourself....

Whos Fault is it the Burglar is in jail?

a) Burglars Fault for commiting a crime
b) Neighbors fault for calling the police
c) Cops fault for arresting the Burglar
d) both b&c for not letting the Burglar do his job.

If you answer anything but a). you have a Criminal mentality and are nothing more that a worthless piece of S***!

Is everyone who pretends to be a lawyer a flaming left wing Democrat. I really do hope for your client's sake that you're not a real attorney. I mean asking for legal advice on whether or not answering questions could get you disbarred?
You can't be that naieve and be an attrorney can you? Like your comment on the kid who pointed a 9mm appearing BB gun where you condemned the officers with no information on it.
At least the real attorneys I know who are worth their salt don't jump to conclusions like you do... which brings up the you aren't a real attorney point. Maybe your sister is a para-legal somewhere, but you ain't the real deal. I'll bet you anything on that, you answers prove that.

As my brother Hanson said, "who's profiling now?"
You make an awful lot of assumptions, kind of like people who get arrested assume we make about them. It is kind of sad that you think all people who answer are rich, white, republican.
I am a retired cop, far from rich, but definitely a big fan of taking responsibility for your actions which does make me unpopular with the "It's the government's fault" or "the mean police caught me with crack, they are profiling me."
So, again, not everyone is rich, or white, or republican, my lieutenant who is very conservative at work, knows the law inside and out and is a heck of a cop is one of the biggest supporters of the democrats out there.
Another theory bites the dust, oh well, it was fun to be sterotypical while it lasted, right?

I am not a Republican, the only thing worse than a Republican is a Democrat!

The real question is, What do you call Racist answers?

P.s. I am white, but not rich.

I work in law enforcement. I am a white female and I am not a flaming right wing republican. I am not rich either.

So besides the part about me being white, the rest of your theory is incorrect. =)
