ive heard some things from other people about this guy i really fancy. i know i shouldnt listen to gossips but it was really annoying me!!

anyways, i said to this guy "i dont think you have been honest with me and i think you have been lying to me".

he said "i dont see how ive been lying to you. i havent told you anything anyway".

so, does that mean he has been lying/dishonest?i know what hes saying is technically true, but isnt he trying to get out of it by a technicality???

what would you think???

Best advice is don't pay attention to gossip (like you said). It's often exaggerated and blown out of proportion. I don't think he's said anything to you to warrant you thinking that he has lied. I wouldn't say he's dishonest based on what you have written. Give him a break, and give him the benefit of the doubt. Gossipers have nothing else to do but to sometimes slam someone's character. That's not cool.

I would just ignore the gossip. Although he might just be a bit shy and cautious and doesn't want to say anything. I wouldn't say he has been lying, he is probably confused with whats been going around just as much as you are!

It sounds like he has not been totally honest with you and yes this is a technicality. However he is saying that he has not lied to you about anything important.

If this happened to me then I probably would not mind if the things he lied about were unimportant.

All I know is that when I speculate or read into things like this too deeply, I end up being wrong or just stressed out from worrying about it...just try to be patient and his true character will come out in due time.

Well if he didnt tell you anything then he wasnt lying to you! If you have any doubts about him then dont carry on any further with him, but honestly - if someone came up to you and said similar to you how would you react?

He is being truthful. Don't listen to gossip. Be as big as he is by ignoring it.

if that's the only thing he said to you to clarify things, then he truely doesn't care about what you feel. and i would just leave him alone..find someone else to fancy...that actually will take the time to explain things that you can understand...

like the song says:
"when my friends told me you had someone new,
i did'ent believe a single word was true.
i showed them all tat i had faith in you.
and now I'm glad that i kept on saying.
oh no not my baby.
no, no, no not my sweet baby."
