It seems to me that only people with some social/religious/political status have easy access to (even) religious/spiritual leaders these days. There are inescapable intermdiaries who sort out devotees before they are allowed to walk up to them for offering their ablutions and seek guidance

The sincere student will get sincere guide to lead to spiritual master

The Lord is in the hear of everyone as Paramatma(supersoul). As soon as a soul is serious and sincere he sends that soul to a spiritual master who guides him to more qualified spiritual master.

Lord Sri Krishna says in the Bhagavad gita(19.61),
The Supreme Lord is situated in everyone's heart, O Arjuna, and is directing the wanderings of all living entities, who are seated as on a machine, made of the material energy.

Comparing the soul and supersoul sitting on the tree of body,
both the Katha Upanisad and Svetasvatara Upanisad say,
"Although the two birds are in the same tree, the eating bird is fully engrossed with anxiety and moroseness as the enjoyer of the fruits of the tree. But if in some way or other he turns his face to his friend who is the Lord and knows His glories—at once the suffering bird becomes free from all anxieties."

The supersoul is only acting as the witnesser and sanctioner.as mentioned in the Bhagavad gita(13.23),
"Yet in this body there is another, a transcendental enjoyer, who is the Lord, the supreme proprietor, who exists as the overseer and permitter, and who is known as the Supersoul."

So the supersoul seeing the sincerity sends one to the aspirant to the proper spiritual master.

In this age of human maturity, the role of spiritual leaders is becoming outdated in religion as well as in all other organizations in the civilized world.
They are gradually replaced by elected governing institutions with equal members who are equal to other people outside the institutions. This advanced principle has been applied nearly two centuries ago in the most recent Revelation of the One True God. Of course, this gradual and radical change requires a proper system of world education.

I don't agree to this.

There might be some places where person is judged by his status but I personally know and visit the ISKCON temple and I see no such duality there.

Every visitor is treated alike - as a spirit soul, who is part and parcel of Supreme Personality of Godhead Krishna.

Just find the nearest ISKCON temple and try visiting there once.

Meanwhile you can visit following sites:

The vicars in the Methodist church are (mostly) very good and will see parishioners almost any time of the day or night if its an emergency. One of my friends Dad's is a vicar and if he wants a holiday he has to leave the country or he gets called back and feels obligated to go and help - he is very available and would never turn anyone away.

On the other hand, there may be common in appearance and simple in dress but genuine spiritual person who don't see genuine seeker because everybody is running after posters, advertisements and there, where more numbers are running. Anyway, who am I and whom am I writing without knowing the person?. By the way, may I know what are you seeking and why? What difficulties are you facing?. May be this is an opportunity.
