I absolutely agree. And the MOT should be a certificate AND a security sticker that can be displayed on the car's windscreen.

You like the government have lost the point. "Road" Tax was introduced so that the money collected could be spent on roads making them better and more accessible. Successive governments have increasingly used the money collected for other purposes and neglected the original purposes. What all motorists should be doing is putting pressure on politicians to use the money extorted from motorists to its proper purpose. Use the ballot box to change policy not Yahoo Answers.

it would not be fair to do away with road tax, although i do aggree that is costs a fortune, but many people who buy fuel don't drive a car, i know for example that my husband buys fuel for his boat, the lawn mower and other fuel powered items like this and does not drive, why should he pay extra tax on fuel to cover the cost of doing away with road tax

i agree with you totally, im a full time mum and rarely use my car so its sat on the drive with full tax for no reason really, i barely do 2000 miles a year and it would defiantly save my family money if the tax was on fuel rather than the car. xxx

Just another TAX, we are taxed more in this country than any other, and I am sure there will be lots more taxes to come yet.

No doubt you live somewhere where you have a CHOICE. Those of us who live in the country with a virtually non- existent public transport system have no choice. If we didn't use our cars, we couldn't get to work.

in short, no you will possibly no longer force it on the line. there is not any "grace era" neither is it any good to have a receipt from paying for tax on line. The offence is "failing to demonstrate" the tax disk and is absolute. the two you demonstrate or you devote the offence. the sole way you may get it domicile legally is the two have it trailered or have the broker you purchased it from furnish it on his commerce plates. in spite of this, maximum coppers can prepare slightly discretion in case you are able to instruct you have paid yet have not yet gained your disk, notwithstanding it is as much as you no remember in case you have faith in that!
