Is there any remedy for overheated batteries for camera?

becuse i left it recharging for a long time and i think it overheated. So is there any way to save my battery!! pls help!!!

It's not an ac battery its a square shaped battery thats for canon. Help me coz i really want to save it!!

That shouldn't really affect the battery, but if it did you can go to the Canon site and order a new one for about $30.
