Yes definitely idly can be cooked in microwave, but u need the idly cooker which is made for microwave ovens only. It is available in all shopping malls. I think it will be costing u not more than 3$.

I'm telling with my own experience.

I think no. Because microwave releases the heat wave that recognises only liquid substance present in food and heats it up.
But idly needs lots of steam to get cooked which microwave cant do.
So you can only heat up idly in microwave, can't cook. I haven't try though. You may try with small amount.

Idlies can be cooked but you will need non metallic idly stand and a steamer in which to put it. It is possible because even eggs can be boiled in a microwave oven using an egg boiler.

The microwaves are radio frequency waves RF skill. The metallic bounces them decrease back in direction of the midsection of the oven inflicting what they bypass by means of to warmth up. The wavelength of the skill is amazingly short and does not penetrate the metallic lining or the metallic mesh that covers the sparkling front of the door. (we are hoping) they might reason your flesh to be cooked from the bone out in case you have been uncovered very long.
