Many people who call themselves "good Christians" take their personal beliefs and use those in deciding which pasages of the Bible to follow and which to ignore. Many of these people look to passages condemning homosexuality, yet they conveniently overlook passages telling them to love others as they would love themselves. This all seems very backwards to me. I think "good Christians" should let the Bible shape their personal beliefs, not allow their personal beliefs to decide for them which passages to follow and which to overlook.

It comes under the whole they are the adults and we are the children thing. They have a higher power telling them what is good and bad and we haven't listened yet. I find it as annoying as the atheist argument that all theists are too dumb to understand and think past a God. When in doubt claim that you are superior it annoys everyone and makes you feel well.... superior.

God is a loving God, but He is also a very Holy God. To let the Bible shape our own personal beliefs is just like idol worship. We are not to make up what we want God to be, we go by scripture and know what God expects and He wants obedience from all of us. In the Bible God calls homosexuals, sodomites. Real born again Christians do not except homosexuality or any other disgusting sin.

Friend, I think you need to study the bible yourself before you come on here condeming True Christians, I for one don't take only a verse here & there to live by. I take it all to live by. Now you say us Christians should love the homesexuals, We love their soul, but not their lifestyle , Now do you really know what the bible says about Homosexuals, & lesbians, The NT & even the OT both condems them & say those who do such things is What? They are worthy of Death. So firend you need to study more to try to change God's word. Or are you trying to satisfied your mind. And by the way, there is no such thing as a good christian & a bad christian, You are either a Christian or you are not, no 2 or 3 groups that is True. Why do you think God destroyed Sodom, because they were committing Sodom in that city.

I've also found this out. Lots of Christianians I know particularly within the Christian Unions at Universities in the UK have banned gays and lesbians from being offical members of the union saying it's against our faith. Yet openly allow boyfriend/girlfriend physical relationships to flourish and even if they have children outside wedlock can still be official members of the union.

Like I said before, define your terms. But even that would be tough to do since dennotative meanings change so much to accomodate the personal agenda of whatever group or organization chooses to delude themselves with whatever "cause" requires the meanings of words to change to suit them. I don't know any "good Christians" who let their personal beliefs apart from the Bible dictate what or how choose to responds to a particular social "issue". The bottom line is that the Bible expressly condemns homosexuality, those who engage in it, and that they shall never enter the kingdom of God. You can rail against that all you want with your twisted interpretation of scripture, but it will never change the fact that God Himself said that a man who lies with another man as with a woman is an abomination in His sight and has NO part in His kingdom.
What does it take to get you people to understand this simple truth? And as far as passages telling the "good Christians" to love others as they would love themselves, that was meant for the children of God's family. God Himself told those who are His children to have nothing to do with "the unfruitful works of darkness(homosexuality being one in a long list) but rather expose them. You make it sound like God is incapable of hating ANY human being. Think again-especially as God said "Jacob have I loved; Esau have I HATED. The fact that your own obvious bias against those of God's fold who are merely doing as God commanded shows your own particular brand of bigotry against anyone whom God in Christ has declared to be good and accepted by Him. Re-examine your position a little better next time.

Being a good (true Christian) is a matter of faith and knowledge has very little to do with it. If we practice what we preach and quit preaching the Lord will be very pleased with us. People who are bigots are not Christians but we have no right to publicly judge them. God alone knows who is true and who is false.

There is a difference between condemning sin and casting stones. As Christians we have a responsibility to flee from immorality, especially when liberal churches try to endorse immorality. I don't care what people do outside the church, all I care about is that the church not endorse it.

Any true Christian should follow all of what the Bible has to say. I love everyone, regardless of their orientation, but I pity them, for they will not enter the Kingdom of God. I love them, but I strongly dislike their lifestyle they have chosen, for it is not of God. No sinner will enter the Kingdom of God, unless you receive God's offer of eternal salvation and only then you shall enter The Kingdom of God. God be with you, and I hope my answer was easy to follow, for if it was not than you have not yet come to know Jesus, our God, Our savior and Father.

I can love someone and still not approve of their life choices, can't you? Could you still love your son if he murdered someone?
