My father is 95 years of age
every year he asks for and receives
no less than five special order fruitcakes
at Christmas -- and then he begins this
ritual of opening and eating them one at
a time over the ensueing months with the
consumption rate leaving him without fruitcake
by Father's Day at which time he makes the
same request and the same routine takes
him from there until Christmas !!!
So, YES--- there is still someone out here eating xmas cake !!!!

My mum still has some, she eats a tiny morsel every now and then! I hope she eats it soon.My sister had her son christened yesterday and they had kept one of the tiers of the wedding cake(apparently it's tradition to keep some for the christening) It was rank! The cake was okay but the marzipan was an odd green colour.

Yes I made mine in September,as I like to drizzle brandy over it every two weeks to keep it moist.
I still have a quarter of it left, as the longer it's left the nicer it is.
