The word 'yoga' derives from a sanskrit word meaning 'to yoke' - to tie together, and in this sense refers to achieving union with God. This is the deepest meaning of yoga, and in this sense, yoga postures are only one small part of yoga. Much more important is cultivating an attitude of oneness with life. If this is fostered, then the morality side should fall into place naturally, as all the negative emotions like anger, fear and desire ultimately come from a sense of difference, a sense that the self is being threatened by something outside itself, or needs something else to make it whole.

As to the four choices you gave, I would argue that it a) is an expression of human values - there are many ways to try to reach the divine, whatever that is, and yoga is only one way; b) it is more an art than a science - isn't it annoying that often ancient Eastern approaches to God feel the need to rebrand themselves as sciences in order still to appear relevant? c) It is certainly not a western concept, though many people who practise yoga in the west do it more as a health practice than for spiritual reasons; d) It may be a way to attain moksha; certainly some claim to have done so through yoga; but since yoga is about union, as long as you are trying to 'attain' something, you are never there - you have to be able to act without thought for the fruits of the action as the Gita says, ie. do what is needed without caring if the result benefits you or not. Act for the sake of the action, not the goal.

d. It is a way to attain Moksha(salvation)

and also the following as mentioned in the Bhagavad-gita(6.3),
"For one who is a neophyte in the eightfold yoga system, work is said to be the means; and for one who is already elevated in yoga, cessation of all material activities is said to be the means".

The process of linking oneself with the Supreme is called YOGA. It may be compared to a ladder for attaining the topmost spiritual realization. This ladder begins from the lowest material condition of the living entity and rises up to perfect self-realization in pure spiritual life. According to various elevations, different parts of the ladder are known by different names. But all in all, the complete ladder is called yoga and may be divided into three parts, namely jnana-YOGA , dhyana-YOGA and bhakti-YOGA . The beginning of the ladder is called the YOGAruruksu stage, and the highest rung is called YOGArudha.

Concerning the eightfold YOGA system, attempts in the beginning to enter into meditation through regulative principles of life and practice of different sitting postures (which are more or less bodily exercises) are considered fruitive material activities. All such activities lead to achieving perfect mental equilibrium to control the senses. When one is accomplished in the practice of meditation, he ceases all disturbing mental activities.

A Krishna conscious person, however, is situated from the beginning on the platform of meditation because he always thinks of Krishna . And, being constantly engaged in the service of Krishna , he is considered to have ceased all material activities.

I'll do it five times a day and I get into God's (Allah) shelter which is the only peaceful place on this universe.
