When I'm showering for more than 15 minutes, there will be itchy red spots all over my body. It goes away after about 30 minutes, and I dont usually shower that long, so showering is not a problem. The thing is, I am on the swim team, and my skin starts to itch a bit. The mild itching is not a problem, i can live through that, but it gets embarrassing when ppl ask my why there are spots all over me.

Anybody help? Thx in advance.

This happens to me once in a blue moon. The only explanation I could come up with is:

1. You are allergic to a certain soap or shampoo which is making you rash or breakout. (If this is the case, try using Dove White Soap, there are no perfumes or anything added it's pretty much hypo allergenic.

2. You have dry skin. I think in my case, it was that I had dry skin. And one would think the water would hydrate your skin, but it doesn't. Try using a moisturizer everyday and if it doesn't go away, then go to a dermatologist.

My guess is that you are sensitive to something in the water or the products that you are using to bathe - it could be the ph balance or the chlorine in the water. You will need to change your skin cleanser to a product like cetaphil and if you are sensitive to chlorine, then it is best not to swim in a pool.

Contrary to popular belief, and I don't care what ANY doctor says...

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN ALLERGY TO WATER -
OVER 80% OF THE HUMAN BODY IS WATER.....

What you DO have is probably an allergy to something IN the water - either a mineral, enzyme, bacteria, or chemical that is put into it to purify it, or any other number of things.

Your best bet is to go to your doctor and ask for a battery of allergy tests, hopefully they will have one specifically for that type of problem.
