Just make sure to tell them your side - and not to actually force them to go if they don't want to.
Of course, any religious indoctrination is detrimental (in The God Delusion - have you read it yet? - Dawkins compares it to child abuse), but your wife isn't likely to see it that way.

Such a sad situation for your wife and kids. Why would you not allow? I honestly cannot stand men like you which is why my first marriage failed. Always this chauvinistic attitude. I know now that I sinned by being divorced and am forgiven, as this happened before I was saved, but I am now married to a real man who doesn't require a permission slip to have a life that I want. You cannot force her to not believe no matter what you do. The power of God is much stronger than you are. Bully her all you want, but there is a verse in the Bible warning not to touch a child of God's. You will suffer the consequences of your actions.

Most kids in that situation alternate between rebelling against the religion and getting caught up in the church induced guilt trip. Either way they'll eventually become neurotics and end up loathing you and your wife for making them so.
Ah, the joys of parenthood.

When it comes down to it, you need to give them the freedom to go just as they are giving you the freedom not to go. What will you children be taught? How about telling the truth, being respectful, loving others, how to be giving, especially to those in true need. It's not a bad thing.

I really don't think you should use the phrase allow my wife. It should be a decision the two of you make together. Have your children picked up anything detrimental to their development there or something?

well if you see an adverse effect on them when they come back its a bad thing
just remember: they will be taught that "if you dont beleive you will go to hell"
i specifically remember that when i was going to sunday school.
theyre going to sweeten it up a bit but eventually theyll come to that conclusion. might be better to put them in sports like sunday baseball or something. or just do playdates if theyre not old enough.
