People die, it's just something that we humans do. God doesn't kill anyone. All He can do is either save people indirectly or try to convince people not to kill in the first place.

Nice little word deception you used there. Lumping in "U.S. military killing the innocent children, women and men in Iraq" with Africa's starvation and tribal warfare. I'd say it's pretty clear you had an ulterior motive when you asked this question.

C'mon honestly now, did you really want an answer or were you just trying to get a reaction out of religious people you know likely support the war in Iraq?

God's greatness is not dependent on man's sin

innocents are killed in wars - and that is a tragedy
(and OUR US military does not set out to kill innocents)
that people die every day of starvation - is a tragedy

but, these are not actions God set out to do this day

What you're asking for is a theodicy. A theodicy is a 'vindication of God's goodness and justice in the face of the existence of evil.' There is no satisfying answer to your question because there is no theodicy that works, not even the popular "free will" one.

God is supposed to be all powerful and all knowing. This means he could have created a world with absolutely no evil, suffering, pain, or harm whatsoever. Because suffering obviously exists, we can come to one of the following conclusions:

1. God is evil/immoral/doesn't care
2. God doesn't exist
3. God does not have the power to stop evil (which means he's not god, which means god doesn't exist)

“Either God wants to abolish evil, and cannot; or he can, but does not want to... If he wants to, but cannot, he is impotent. If he can, but does not want to, he is wicked... If, as they say, God can abolish evil, and God really wants to do it, why is there evil in the world?”

I guess most respondents would try to propagate what the know nothing about. "Inscrutable are the ways of the Lord" - or so they say. For my part, I have the courage and candour to say: I know not! But are you surprised, even many so-called "holy books" are filled with filthy things their "God" did, and murders he directly committed in the name of being "Almighty"!!

God DID give us a perfect life, but Adam and Eve ruined it by sinning. Now, since God doesn't want to force us to do stuff...

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."-Romans 3:23

To get back our perfect life, we must have faith in Christ and go to heaven.

This life is just a test run of real eternal life of hereafter. Death means end of test run, be ready to start the real life, the endless one.

Adam sinned.
He was suppossed to live forever...
But God told him that if he sinned that he would surely DIE...
His children & all of his decendants ar partakers of the sin debt.
Aids, cancer, sickness...death
all are a product of adam's sin

Last I checked, earthquakes, floods and tsunamis were "acts of God" - so it's not a question of just letting something happen.
