First of all, it's really not very kind to say "Down syndrome kid"...they are people first so it is kinder to say kid/child with Down syndrome. After all, we don't say "Cancer kids" right?

Second, Down syndrome is generally a random genetic mutation that can occur in any pregnancy, It is not considered to be hereditary in that sense. The odds are probably the same as in the general population.
