hi
Now I think you will find that If you have a receipt with the amount paid and the vehicles details on it then in law it belongs to you.
So you have a number of options
1 report it as stolen, then the cops will collect it for you.
2 contact a repossession company, they will charge a fee, and they will collect it for you.
3 buy a Denver boot, wheel clamp, and fit it, that's bound to illicit a response.
However if you have no receipt and you paid in cash its your word against theirs and you are most probably screwed unless you can take them to court, if however you paid by cheque and you wrote on it that it was for the purchase of the vehicle then see the police, its called obtaining pecuniary advantage and is a crime.
Personally, I would kiss goodbye to the money and trash the car, wouldn't get the cash back but boy would it make you feel better

Quite simple. You take the signed and dated and notarized title he gave you and report the vehicle stolen. When the police find it, you can tow it to your house. No problem. Unless of course you handed someone that much money and didn't get a clear and signed title. But I'm sure you didn't do that since a clear and signed title is the document that proves your ownership. And if you didn't get it, you would just be out $3,000 with no recourse, since even if you went to court, it would be your word against his.

well you can start by going to the police, its theft of your money.
If that doesn't work, buy a gun and go there with it, and then wave it around in the air yelling about how you want your money and if you dont get YOUR money THIS instant that you will start shooting people! If he becomes co-operative at this point, it will no longer be necessary to yell. If he is still refusing to co-operate, fire a round into the ceiling to show him you mean business. At this point if he doesn't begin co-operating, find his wife and tell the man you are going to shoot his wife in the knee cap and she will never walk again. If he doesn't co-operate then, Just shoot her in the kneecap and point it at the other knee-cap and work your way up until you either a) get down to your last bullet or b) he co-operates. If you get down to your last bullet, just kill the bastard he isn't worth loading up the gun again.

First off!! What are you doing lending someone 3000 bucks????
Honestly you might never get it back but you could always take him to court or beat the hell out of him. make his life a living hell. but I wouldn't go through so much trouble for just 3000 dollars
