It is common for a 16 year old to have issues with acne such as blackheads. Sometimes antibiotics are used to try and control major acne issues in teens. I tried it for a while as a teen and it did help that problem but I did end up with a yeast infection on it until I finally started to eat yogurt during the treatment and that helped.

For a cheaper way you could try applying a warm, wet face towel to the blackheads to see if that helps loosen them (this can be applied to the face or other areas such as back, etc).

Because this is a concern to you I would also recommend talking to your mom to see about going to your pediatrician to see what they can suggest for facial products of the prescription kind if the issue is on your face. For products you can buy OTC (over the counter) there is Physoderm (there are a couple of formulations for the different skin types) and Noxzema that you can try.

Something else I found was that when I started taking multivitamins for a different reason that it helped my skin clear up as well. So that's another thing that could be helpful too.

Acne is caused by blocked skin pores. Sometimes also, hormones. The best way to handle this, is wash your face with soap and water every day, and dry your skin. Try to keep your hands away from your face as much as possible. Please, do not "pop" the pimples. That can cause scarring. Instead, if you have some isopropyl alcohol, use a piece of tissue, or a cotton ball, wet it, place that on the acne for a few minutes. And/or, take a washcloth (clean one), get the water from the sink as hot as you can handle it, get the washcloth wet, ring it out real good, and apply the washcloth to the acne. That will help open up the pores. Reapply the cloth with fresh hot as you can handle (not to the point of burning), a few more times for a few minutes. The alcohol should also help dry up acne. But to open the pores, and get the "gunk" out, the washcloth way is the best. way. Or, you could try a product like clearasil. Take care.

well it is perferctly normal because look at you age! Remedies include applying some honey, washing your face with salt water, and not scrubbing your skin too much.
Otherwise theres things at your local drug store which are lovely...like clean and clear...these things are not harsh but simple enough for everyday usage
