My first time on yahoo questions and answers and i was seeking a response to a question quite unrelated but then saw yours - i think it depends what type of job you are applying for - if it is with vulnerable adults or children or indeed a post in the government say, then i think it might show a caution in this regard but for how long is not clear to me - it would seem unfair that those serving criminal sentences can have spent convictions but cautions remain indefinately - i do hope someone lets you know
all the best - just think God is the only one who forgives totally and wipes our slates clean when we sometimes (in our ignorance or fear) do the wrong thing- Kind regards

HI,
The caution will stay on the police national computer (PNC) for every. However a caution is not diclosed to other parties when they request the information. The record is kept for police reference incase you commit another offence then the caution may be taken into consideration when deciding how to deal with you.
If you wish to get a copy of your PNC record then you have to pay £10 and fill out a form at any police station.

It really depends on the type of job you`re applying for. Whether it shows up or not is down to the police force who issued the warning and whether they think it may be relevant. If it was a one off and a long time ago, they may not mention it, especially if you have no other convictions or warnings etc.
Also, if it does come up, it doesn`t necessarily mean that you will be turned down for employment.
