Ok, so I like this guy who is a little over 12 years older than me (I'm 22). We've been good friends for a while now, but for the past year I've liked him. We went out a couple of times, just the two of us to lunch and to dinners and stuff. We've also had many long conversations on the phone as well as in person (one went on for 4 hours... until about 4 a.m.) many of them talking about relationships and about some of our deepest secrets about our lives. The confusing thing is, we kinda stopped hanging out like we did, but he still shows the signs that he did before (smiling at me, making me laugh, standing close to one another, catching him looking at me, flirting back whenever I flirt.... things like that). I honestly think his friends have been saying negative things about me... which is another bump in the road for me. So now my question is...

Does this guy like me? And if so, what should I do about this situation? How do I go and make the next step without scaring him?

It is VERY obvious that he really likes you. A man is not going to do all the things this guy has done unless you two share a deep bond. But because you started the relationship as friends, he may be scared to confront you with his feelings. You have already said that you have stopped hanging out the way you used to. That is probably because it hurts him too much to be with you as just a friend.
You need to tell him how you really feel about him. If not, your friendship is going to fall apart and you will lose him forever.
What's the worst that could happen? Your friendship is already suffering. If you do nothing, you'll still lose him.

Ask him straight out why things have changed. If he's worth anything, he'll be honest with you. If he's letting his friends run his life, he needs to grow up and make his choices for himself. You can't go wrong with asking him outright. Even if he gets freaked out, at least you'll know what's going on. It's not really a bad question anyway so the odds of him freaking out are pretty low. You do have a right to know where you stand with this guy.

honestly i think he is kinda attracted to you because normally boys dont waste their time talking with somebody else who dont worth it imean are not special to them. he's a little bit conscious about the situation of course because of your age and probably because of his friends. i do believe that age is not a barrier for two people in love. if i were you, i wait for the boy the do the next move. if the boy really in love he'll do everything to fight for your love.

maybe the guy likes you. the point is, do you want it to progress to the next level? is the guy married? after all, he is already 34. even if he is still single, is he serious about you? why not wait for the guy to make the next move? if he won't, move on and forget him. i don't think he is worth it. find someone closer to your age.

i think its the age factor coming b/w u two.
probably after getting attached to u ...he jus realized that hes too old for u...or ...that u deserve some1 of ur age.....
well....u shud talk to him and clear things out..trust me it wont take much time.....just go out for a coffee and talk. assure him that for u age doesnt matter and ask him if he has any feelings for u.....if he has then Koool..if he hasnt then keep flirting...one day he eventually will have......lolz got it??

Take it slow, and let him know that you're interested in being with him. If you've talked 4hours +, I'm sure you're comfortable talking about your feelings you have for him, with him. Just let him know, and take baby steps.

-.-'
