Well, I'd be scared just like anyone else when they are slammed with the specter of death. After all, death is a huge difference from anything that you know now and change is always scary.
However, the thought of seeing Jesus face to face is so awe inspiring and such a spectacular thought that I, in a sense, would be looking forward to it.
The Bible says that death is an enemy and not in God's original plan. It's not something to rush towards. On the other hand, what a joy to see our Savior face to face!
All I can say is that I pray that God's grace and peace will be with you now and in the day of your death.
How wonderful that we, as children of Christ, do have to live in terror or what the night and death hold!!

i can tell you how It happened to me!
I had faith, pure faith, and when i was diagnosed with cancer, the things I hoped for became evident that my faith was maybe a little misguided. I became disillusioned in part because of this.
I swear the spirit of death has visited me at least one time, if it was death that visited me and not Jesus, or an angel of the harvest. i became disilussioned in part but the fact that people in my own church seemed to practice The more evil forms of the cult also hit me hard. So combined together, either satan hit me in the head with a ROCK or I woke up from the spirit of Mesmerisation and despied what i saw.
if I ended up in heaven prematurely i would be saddened because i could not finish the MISSION i was pre destined and aggreed to do anf fulfill. but my spirit groans in agony all the days of my life wondering when I will leave this mortal toil. I dont really think I will be able to rejoice like the angels who shouted for joy until I am fully aware of the status of my salvation. of the Greatness of Lack thereof of the resurrection, I achieve to.

pertaining to your illness, i wish you blessings and godspead. I stopped my chemo and my radiation and will refuse to do anything because i beleive I was poisoned with the cancer i have, so someone is a murderer. i have prayed often that people die, and i prayed for several years that i would die. but yet when i wake up sometimes i think i remembered i had died but that My eyes opened anyway. i think as soon as you open your eyes, if it is the will of god that you be taken! you will find out many things that the world has gotten Wrong.

The rapture is not something Christians worry about-but hope for.
And yes you would be in heaven first-by a couple of seconds-the dead in Christ will rise first. Make sure you tell lots of people about Jesus before you die. Do you need prayer for healing?

I have been. And if I die before Armageddon, I am assured that I will be resurrected. Not to heaven, but back onto the earth, PROVIDING I strictly obey waht Jesus taught. Particularly Matthew 28; 19, 20
How do i know it will be earth I will finish up?
Psalms 37; 9,11,29,.34

Hmm, interesting question! I'm a Christian too and I'm not sure what to make of this. I guess I'd be upset at all I'd miss out on here on earth (having kids, travelling...) but I guess knowing how long you've got left makes you do all the things you've always wanted to do. Certainly helps to put things in perspective, I guess!

What's wrong with you (if you don't mind me asking)? How do you feel about Christians praying for healing then (for you)?

I would probably feel the almost the same way you feel. This world is evil and I am really bored of life. I pray to God everyday to let something happen to me because I truly feel like I'm ready to die in flesh. I feel nothing but apathy in this world and i don't want to feel any more pain and misery living here. Only reason that I wont commit suicide is maybe the slight chance that something life-changing and interesting will happen to me and also that I heard if you kill yourself you go to hell. So my answer is, if i received news that i was dying soon, it would bring me tears of joy.

I'm happy you have found peace, I hope it allows you to enjoy the remainder of your time on earth. I would hope I could face such news with the dignity and grace you possess.

All of us have a life threatening illness--it's called mortality.

All of us will die in one way or another, and a life-threatening illness is inevitable now for almost all of us, thanks to advances in medicine and our ability to see it coming.

The way you handle death depends on how you handle life. If you find yourself in this situation, reflect on your life. You have so little left, make it worthwhile.

why would anyone worry about the rapture? live your life to the fullest, do as much as you can for God, if this is true.

I would be like "oh, bummer" because death sucks, but I would be most worried about leaving all my work finished.
