This is the way every cult religions act's to isolate their followers apart from the rest of the world , and brainwash them step by step.

The pastor will hug the follower and " I'm happy you have come " you are in light - they are in dark ?


Why the christian / Islam followers think - they are unique and the outside world is moron. they are gifted . .? out side world is evil and scary place :-) and everything is written in their dumb books?

i personally have seen an angel appear in my room
then upon years of study I beheld the glorious vision of Jesus, i had 3 visions.
Nothing in the world could prove The Gospel of christ in more purity other than having a greater visitation and vision experience. But what i saw was enough to remove all doubt.

As it comes to cult christianity, I was given the definition of what a cult is and by that definition alone All christianity follows a man and worships him. Jesus was indeed a man but he Is the Godhead in fulness. So, following the Word of God, as ONE who speaks for GOD, is not completely a cultish parameter.
However, in the bible it is declared that following this apostle or that apostle saying ONE is baptized of such is a transgression of the gospel. it even says that the sheaves will be gathered together and bundled ready to thrown in the fire to be burned.
So more corrrectly on that definition of following a man, If christians group together and follow the teachings of the pharisees or the baptists, or the catholics, it is possible that such a following worships a man alone, and before christ.
i think others have defined a cult as HIDDEN KNOWLEDGE.
but i think cult has reference to forbidden knowledge, that is hid from those that are righteous, and given to those that make vows of silence. in this sense brainwashing is a very real definition of the church of satan. see rev 17:1,5 18:4,23,24.

Sorcery is the old English word that has connections to hidden knowledge and mind control. it is what the church of satan uses to deceive the nations and to deceive christian. Wiccans in america are the most notable people who are not christian who follow some of the paths. but seeing that witchcraft and sorcery are the same word as pharmekia, there are known that there are many crafts in this hidden knowledge. Remember in verse 4 it says the angel cries unto His People to "come out of her".

well. a cult is a group of people that believe in the samething? so ya i guess it is. but you seem pretty concerned? christians don't think we're any better. yes it's true that you are in the dark, but it's by choice. usually it's because of sin. you sin makes you unable to see. that was my thing. i was so into porn and woman that i couldn't see it, so i rejected God when i went to youth groups, but it ruined my life and then i finally saw. i don't get why people don't see it? sin is so destructive, it's like wanting to hurt yourself.
