told to do 25 push ups. Being the obedient person you are start right away. You get to three and things are going well, 4, 5, aren't too bad either, then you hit 6 and your arms start to shake, once you get to 7 you go down and then collapse. What happens then? I know at the end of basic training I will be better, but up until that point what happens when I fall on my face while trying to do push ups? Just so everyone knows I am working really hard to improve, so please no negative comments. I'm not an idiot and know that I need to keep improving. I'm just wondering what happens in this scenario. Thanks very much for the information!!!

if you cant do 25 pushups then you are gonna get reamed by your drill,I dont know how much time you have before you go in but it doesnt take long to work up to 25 pushups start tomorrow do how ever many you can and do it 3-4 times throughout the day,the next day add one same thig 3-4 times throughout the day so on so forth your body should allow you to add one a day doing it this way up until you get between 50-100 then you may have to stick on a number for multiple days or even a week but you will be amazed how quick they add up and you tighten up,good luck

I am a Marine veteran.
If you can't do 25 push ups than you do whatever it takes to learn how to do 25 push ups. If you drop after 7 than rest for two seconds and try to squeeze more out. Forcing yourself to do more each time will get you there !
Any free time you have to yourself in the evenings better be devoted to doing lots and lots of push ups, or at least trying. Have someone grab the back of your shirt and only give you enough help to get those last reps out (only as you start to fail - not before).
By the other person slightly pulling on the back of your shirt, they will help lighten the load a little.
Guts, discipline, and pushing yourself beyond the limit each time is the only thing that's going to get it done - just like in life.
You are probably going to get your balls busted for not doing the 25, but my best advice for you is to do whatever it takes and show that you have heart and determination to do what ever is asked of you. Leaders look for determination and dedication.
Good luck.

Am a branch from the Army. As for my training experience, its so very hard and rigid but u can do up to the end of training. Just keep alive, be strong, and orient your self that you can do everything. Take a punishment etc just think of that this is a part of training which take a worse experience but in the end you are lucky because you're the one who finished and have accomplished your dream to be a soldier.

They will yell at you and call you all sorts of names, but that's just the mind games they play with you. If you are trying hard, they know it, even though, they will NOT acknowledge it outright. If you did 7 push ups today, do 8 tomorrow. The main thing is that they wan to see some improvement.

Back in 1968 when I was drafted my DI would have made me continue until I got there with a whole lot of screaming and cursing. Wouldn't matter if it took all day.

Basic training is much easier now days though.

We had to do 10 pull ups and walk the ladder before we could eat. (never could do those pull ups) If we didn't we had to do 100 sit ups. Don't do any of this? No food.

Quick and easy answer...they'll keep yelling at you until you complete all 25. Its about testing not only your strength, but your willpower and determination. The body is weak, but the mind is strong. You CAN do 25 push ups and they know that you can. Besides you'll feel empowered once you complete them! Best of luck!

If you are a Marine, they will tell you to get up and start again. They pushed me beyond my limits. I found out that my physical strenght was nothing, that my real strenght was in my spirit and resolve to continue even though I had no strenght left. I discovered a new part of me, I had a strong spirit that was unwilling to give up. The Navy should be easier on you'll than us, and good luck.

You will get up and do some over-head claps, some flutter kicks and then go to your knees and keep pushing.
