It doesn't have to be "food poisoning". You could have a lactose intolerance or a food allergy. But assuming it's a viral or bacterial gastroenteritis, you'll live. The abdominal "swelling" is bloat. It's caused by intestinal gas. It's not your "tummy" that's bothering you, it's your abdomen and more specifically your small intestine. Try simethicone (Gas-X, etc.) to rid yourself of the gas. You'll feel better.

I would not guess food poisoning if you are not vomiting and having diarrhea. They both will usually occur and very strongly along with severe abdominal cramping, which usually starts soon after the infected food has been consumed and as stated earlier, it usually will resolve itself within 24 hours. With the bloating and cramping you are describing, I would tend to look more toward constipation or bowel blockage or if you are half way between menstrual periods, it could be related to ovulation, but this should not cause that much bloating.

with food poisoning, the biggest hint will be nausea and vomiting. It is NOT contagious. Someone would have to eat the same contaminated food in order to get sick.

Fever, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, headaches, nausea, vomiting.
If your tummy is swollen, that means that there is something wrong in there,...you should go to a doctor, before it gets worse. If the stomach breaks, you could die. Would be best, if you'd go to the Emergency room at nearest hospital.
