Some cough syrups contain a small amount of alcohol, though it's rare now days. I have heard of teens purposely ODing on dextromethorphan cough suppressant to get high but it's not advisable. A multi symptom medicine like Nyquil will have an antihistamine in it, which makes most people feel drowsy and woozy but, really-why would you want to do these weird, potentially dangerous things to feel strange?

No it is no different to taking medicine then having a drink straight away. Parents mix medicine with water so there kids will drink it. Your hardly going to give a kid medicine and water if it gets them drunk. If you drink enough cough syrup in one go then you will start to get a kick out of it.
