Your question got cut off, but I'm guessing you wanted to know if you need it to get the remote programmed?

No.

Valet will just allow you to disable the alarm if you know someone will be driving your car and you dont want to hassle them with the alarm. Someone like, say, a valet kid ;)

You'll be fine, the people who program the remote will only program it for what the alarm is capable of. And if you're still unsure, they're the people to ask, they get paid :)

Edit: Though I'll admit, valet switch will make your life a lot easier. The above applies if you aren't in a position to get one installed. The remote can still be programmed.

and yes you beeter take the car back and tell them you need to have the valet swith install,they didn't put it in because they are lazy
the valet switch is also use to program a new remote or change any feature on the alarm

lets say on a rainy day you run to your vehicle and the remote gets wet ,it wont disarm the alarm anymore you open the door put the key on the ignition and the car is not going to start so you will be calling a tow truck

but if the valet switch is there the only thing you need to do is put the key on turn on the ignition ,press the valet switch and the alarm will stop and the vehicle will start

go back and get the valet install all the alarms come with one

Yes, take it back and get the valet. Or maybe they put it in and forgot to tell you where. Check your kick panels, around your fuse boxes and above the glove box
