I ahve always been a small person. The most I ever weighed was 112 lbs. Last summer I got sick and had to have two kidney stones removed, I vomited alot. Also, I was under alot of stress and lost almost 20 lbs in a 2 month time frame. It took some time and I finally got my appetite back, however, I don't seem to be gaining that weight back. I think I gained about 5 lbs and its been 7 months. I am officially a size 0. Is this normal??

I would suggest that you start by balancing your diet. Supplements like BOOST or ENSURE are often given to people who need to put on weight (very common in nursing homes where the elderly rarely have good appetites because they have lost their sense of taste).

Stress can affect your appetite and cause you to lose weight. I recommend the following: don't take life so seriously. Usually what we think are problems today are solved by tomorrow . . . if we don't stress over them.

Get exercise . . . this helps put on muscle, which weighs more than fat. It also relieves stress. Get a good night's sleep. This helps your body to digest your food better and it refreshes your brain so you can deal better with stress.

That sort of happened to me. I am relatively skinny but considered normal weight. I got sick and lost 10lbs in one week. The next month all i did was work out and eat as much as possible and i gained the 10lbs back. Start eating things high in sugar.

Dear Miamia,

I don't think that you should start to eat a lot but exersize and maybe slowly start adding more food in your diet. But don't eat junk food alot but hearing the amount of your weight it doesn't seem like you ever did.
Hope some of this addvice worked! Keep trying and praying!!

Since it's normal for you to be small-framed, I wouldn't think it was a eating disorder. As you went through all of that I'm sure it's normal that you lost that amount of weight. What isn't normal is how your body isn't recovering from it. I'm not a doctor so I would advise to see yours. He will be able to moniter you and advise a healthy eating plan that will get you back to a healthy weight.

That could just be the way you are, lots of people lose weight when sick, especially when their is surgery. If you feel that you are still too thin try some protein shakes or bars to help bulk up your meals.

I would go to your doctor and get a checkup. You could be anemic and have a lack of iron in your body or some other medical condition. Call and make that appointment. God bless.
