That's not cheap, it's normal nowadays. I'm female and I prefer it that way; I wouldn't feel comfortable if the guy paid all the time.

no, I am not cheap - in the sense that I would prefer to pay for my own meal than go out with a cheap guy... :))
Actually, I'd prefer to pay for both myself and someone who is not cheap but just doesn't have money, rather than go out with a cheap person (aka, who has the money, but prefer to keep it for his own entertainment).
Being cheap just give too much importance to money. At the end of a nice evening, date or else, I really don't want to nitpick who had what drinks "oh wait I had the salad you had the coffee, that makes 2 bucks more for you than for me, then for the tip, you have to add 50 cents more..." that's tacky and I prefer to pick up the whole tab and never to see you again.

I'm not cheap. I think that maybe one person could pay for one meal, the other person could pay for one meal another time. It's also good for the first date to go halves.

Sometimes I am but I didn't mind going dutch as they say (I'm married now so its our money not his or mine) sometimes its good for a couple to split the bill it shows that no one is in it for the "stuff" and that everyone can be independent and so besides in relationships cheap is fine unless you are so cheap you separate 2ply toilet paper so it lasts longer that sort of cheap is too cheap!

I can be, it depends on the situation.
Eating out, no. If I go out with a group of friends I always chip in more than my share.
I don't like to tip high though since service has gone down hill.
Shopping, this have to be on sale in most situations

it is only fair that once in a WHILE your gal spoils you and treats you to a very nice place.or cooks u a dinner-like exotic lobster ,champagne etc but ...not paying is awful bet u do not date a lot.
is buying roses or presents, taking her for hollidays or special weekends out of the quiestion if she will not pay?
it is not a metter of what we think of you,do you not feel bad?
yike-ful way of thinkinhg!

i prefer the word frugal.
im a female, and I gladly offer to pay.
however, i hate men who are really cheap and will buy something crappy for less money than a quality item for a little bit more.
or men who refuses to spend money to have a little fun once in awhile. (like renting a snowboard for the day??)
*obvious i'm a little bitter

I actually do not find anything cheap in it .........It's good .
But depends with whom you are......
Better than having somebody's favour.
" Oh he paid for this last time so I'll pay for this."
"No No No No thats ok i'll pay "
And an account is started with everyone.......hah.

If anything, I'm overly extravagant-I'm also bartender, so cheap-skates like you are not generally well-liked.
