Its going to be chinese symbols meaning "Eternal Love" going vertical down my side, or off to either side on my back. ... but i dont want it to be just those plain symbols. I need some designs around it, some color. Any ideas of what may look good with this? Colors, tribal, other designs... ANYTHING! Thank you!

Well, to let you know, whatever you decide to do...red is a very good luck color for Chinese....but you also don't want to modify the characters themselves because if there is one extra stroke or line on the characters, it changes the meaning of the character. I wouldn't put tribal near it because it might take away from the initial image that you want on your tattoo...the characters.

Okay, first of all, you don't want ANYTHING, because you don't want to regret it. Make sure you tell your tattoo artist that you don't want the symbols just plain, tell them that you want them to be more pretty and colorful. Now, there are lots of flowers you could incorporate around the symbols that mean eternal love, which you could find somewhere on the internet. Roses, anything. You could even get some flowers like the lotus, cherry blossoms, and the peony, which is a really good flower. The symbols could be your favorite colors, or something with a glow. Like you could use, say, purple, and make sure they put some glow or some shine using white highlights. Any other color works, too, with the white highlights. And the flowers, they'll already have bright colors.

Just make sure that this tattoo is what you really want. The design and also the colors should really mean something to you. Maybe something to remind you of a loved one that has passed away, etc. I would use beautiful bright color. I just got my first tattoo a week ago and I love it. so what every you decide good luck.

You could do it on a scroll that looks old...You could do some color shading...maybe some flowers with vines looping through the characters....Tribals are kinda played out in my opinion....It should be something that means something to you....Maybe something relating to the reason why you are getting 'eternal love' inked? Hope i helped...Best of luck...
