Mankind is suffering as a result of sin. It is not God's will that anyone should suffer. There are a couple of truths that as we look at together gives a better understanding. Whatsoever a man soeth, that shall he also reap. It rains on the wicked and the righteous alike. These 2 texts show that somethings come about due to choices made and some things come about as a matter of chance. The key to understanding this is another text, all things work together for good to those who love the Lord. Even though bad things can happen through our own doing or through chance we can rest assured that somehow the Lord will cause it to be a blessing at some point in our lives.

Alcoholism causes cirrhosis, not cancer. And everything that happens is god's will, according to christians. He is all powerful and allknowing; how could anything happen without his okay? Think about it: he created the whole world, if he really wanted to stop suffering he could and would.
I would suggest that you stop praying altogether and start taking responsibility for your own life and actions. Once you realize you don't have to worry about what god is doing you will probably be much happier.

No I am going to agree with you. Not everything that happens is the will of God. In fact on this earth most everything that happens is the direct antithesis of Gods will. Most of it is the result of the actions of men and some the actions of other creatures that learned their reprehensible behavior from man.
Most people do not consult God before they act and the greedy ones do not want any contact with God at all preferring to continue their behavior regardless of the impact on the environment of the health of others.
Don't blame god if your world turns to crap. Blame the ones who done it if you can find out who they are and if not blame general human greed.

I would say that the cycle of life and death is a natural cycle, and we spend way too much time trying to find someone to blame for it. That being said I feel that God is very active in our lives, and that he can and does take bad situations and in the long run bring good out of them. No, I am not going to tell you to go pray harder. I believe that bad things happen to everyone and how we deal with the things that happen to us affects deeply who we become.

God is not the author of bad things in our lives. That would be satan's job. God says in the Word of God that He wishes above all else that we prosper and be in good health, even as our soul prospers. God may 'allow' satan to do some things. Just like the lady whose husband died of cancer. He made unwise choices. Even in the midst of our unwise choices, God can divinely heal if we have the faith. May God Bless U.

in this particular case to be drunk is against the word of God. some one said if you don't submit to God's will, then God will say your (man) will may be done. Also it is the Islamic principle that everything is Alla's will. Christianity teach that you have freedom to chose, you have freedom to chose the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden. you have the freedom to not believe. When you choose wrong Christ is only one that says come "thou you choose wrong I will give you another chance I will pay for that wrong now go and do better". like the story goes kindergartner asks his teacher for new sheet of paper because he has spoiled that one and she gives him new sheet and say do better now and when that teacher goes home she prays God I have spoiled this day can I have another God says do better with a new day.

Well, you're right. That woman was deluded because her hubby killed himself. That wasn't God, that was gin. I'm not a Christian so I don't buy that God's will thing. We all make choices and those choices come with consequences. It's pretty simple. God might guide you but I don't think He makes things happen without you doing them. That would be magic and there's no such thing. People cause things, both good & bad, to happen. Plain & simple.

It may not be Gods Will, but God sometimes allow things to happen. Like He allowed Lazarus to die when it was reported to His that hes was sick was to show the people His miracle to prove he was who He said He was. Sometimes it takes a tragedy in a persons life to get the to seek Him and Draw them unto Him.
