Suicidal ideation--the technical term for thinking about suicide--is one of the symptoms of depression. Call your MD and make an URGENT appointment. Your MD can refer you to a psychiatrist for further evaluation and may also start you on an antidepressant and a medication to help the anxiety. Go to a public clinic or emergency room if you do not have a family doctor (or one that you trust). If you are feeling suicidal immediately, there are suicide hotlines with people who are trained to talk to people who feel the way that you do, and they will also assist you in getting help. CALL THEM!
First of all--don't act on those thoughts. They are thoughts, they are uncomfortable, but they are only thoughts, which means you don't have to take action on them. Do you have a plan for how you would kill yourself? Do you have a time that you want to do it in? A place? Are the feelings just present, or do you have any intent to carry them out? Are you experiencing any other symptoms such as general feelings of depression, sadness, or anger? Are you sleeping too much or not at all? Are your feelings making it difficult for you to do your daily school or work? Are they getting in the way of your normal social life? These are some of the questions that any doctor, psychologist, or therapist would want to know in order to help evaluate your condition.
It may also be important to talk to a friend or a relative, but suicide is such an important and scary situation that you really do need to see a professional about your feelings. Those feelings can indicate underlying and serious conditions so although the thoughts may temporarily go away, it is important to understand whether there is a more long-term condition underlying them, and important to get treatment for them if there are other conditions.
Also, to put it in perspective a little bit, almost every human being thinks about suicide at some time or another. We just don't act on it, and the strength of the feelings and thoughts varies from person to person. Please know that you are a valuable person, even though you may not feel that way right now. Feelings come and go and we don't need to act on them.

There are help lines you can call. The best thing you can do is to talk to someone about it. It doesn't have to be a psychologist straight away, even just a valued friend, someone you really trust. Try to talk to someone, or go somewhere that you can get help. You are not alone, and not the only person who have ever had these thoughts.
Many states will have an organization that deals primarily with depression and they will have information on getting help if you are feeling suicidal.

If you are present considering suicide and feel you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the ER. If you are in no immediate danger, make an appointment with your doctor who can refer you to a good psychologist and or psychriatrist would can prescribe you an anti-depressant. Depression is treatable and you need to find out if it's a chemical imbalance and talk to a psychologist. Most doctors use a combination of medication and therapy. had the same exact problem a few weeks ago. I called my psychiatrist and went in the hospital. If you dont have one I suggest going to the emergency room. You dont deserve to have these feelings. Let someone know this might help with some of the fear. However I really think if you are afraid you def should be at an ER or on the phone with someone. It might seem all crazy going into a hospital but they are there to help you. Be safe.

If you are actively suicidal, call a suicide prevention hotline (1-800-SUICIDE), 911, or go to an emergency room.
If you are simply thinking of this, then get to your doctor; there are many treatments for depression and related disorders that your doctor can prescribe for you. You may also want to consider therapy/counseling. If you can't afford it, check with your local mental health agency, or contact a university that teaches psychology or psychiatry to see about getting into their practicum clinic.

If you're seriously contemplating suicide drive to the hospital right now and tell someone, or call 911 and get a ride there. That may sound drastic but my friend killed himself a week ago and it's nothing to fool around with if you're suicidal. Get help NOW.

or look inside the front of your phone book or dial 1-411 for a suicide/rape/crisis-Hotline
call or go to the hospital and tell them

My boyfriend is going through the same thing and has to go to the hospital so they can put him on medications for anxiety and depression. Tell someone like a friend or family so they can go get you help, there are alot of different medications and conselors who can get you through this, do not do anything stupid that you will regret...best of luck!

Its a good thing that it is scaring you. That is a warning to you. Being frightened by these thoughts means you don't really want to do it. You are crying out to yourself that something is wrong. Get help fast.
