I bought a Sony DSC-W100 for $250 from Staples at Christmas time for my son. It is an awesome camera with great resolution and simple to use features. Great value for the money! At the time, they had the best price - beating Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City and all the Photo shops. Good luck shopping for price - but the camera is great. BTW - I shoot with a Canon digital SLR (which is fabulous) but the Sony was perfect in that price range.

I just ordered a Kodak EasyShare Z710 7.1MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom off of Amazon.com, along with a 1 GB SD card for and only paid $221.24, including shipping. I like it better than the Sony because the Sony is too small for me. Plus the Kodak has more optical zoom. Using digital zoom reduces picture quality.

prefer to buy a digital camera which provides u with features such as exposure control ( i.e. aperture control, shutter speed control and ISO....dont worry...these r terms that can b understood easily when u go thru its manual once....if at all u dont know them previously.)
also, a camera with a resolution of around 5 megapixels should do good. Higher resolution cameras only consume more memory space, no better if u have a decent sense of photography...
Canon Powershot 520/530/540 is my opinion...go thru Olympus site also...

I would recommond Canon SD600 over that camera but of course personal preference. The SD600 takes really nice pictures, not saying the DSW30 doesnt just not as good.

I have a cell Phone that has the Best camara i have ever seen. This Phone is the Sony Ericson W810i. it has a 2.0 mega pixle camara and it also records video! Check it out if you want. Oh yea, did i mention it has an MP3 player?
