Breeze products work great! They aren't as expensive as the fancy packaged lotions and its easy to get every last bit out! Try to get something with a tingle...that gives you color quicker. If you are really white, start out at 7 minutes then work your way up. At first, try to go as often as you can like every other day or so. When you are at the color you want, go once or twice a week for 15-20 minutes each time. Hope this helps...I haven't tanned since last summer...this makes me wanna go back...oh...and try to do a stand up bed every so often because you will not tan so much between your legs and under your arms. The stand up bed allows you to be able to tan every part. Good luck!

I'm just starting my tan back for prom too so go us... Just go see what they have at a tanning salon... buy that stuff. As for how long to stay in, only about 7-10 minutes until about the 3rd time in, then go about 13, then 16, just build your way up. The longest I ever stay in is about 25 minutes. I've been tanning since my aunt got her tanning bed about 3 years ago and my skin is as healthy as ever. so good luck and have fun at Prom!

I won't lecture you, but I will say, don't waste your money. You should only do it for 10 minutes and it hardly shows the first couple of times so you have to go back, and if you want to keep the tan you have to keep going back and spending more money.
If you're just looking for a healthy glow for the prom pictures, there are tanning sprays that are cheaper and healthier.

When you atart tannng at first they will tell you how long you can stay in there. This is so you wont get burnt right away.If you try to do it to quickly you will probably peel.Ask the people at the place what you should use. They will tell you based on your skin type and tone. One thing I can tell you though is do not use anything with tingle in it.It burns your skin up and really burns while your under the tanning bulbs!!

You need to go to the store or tanning place an get a special tanning loation. You need to get one that has some sunblock in it. This will protect your skin from drying out and from turning red. I hope prom goes well for you. The best think you could do is to talk to your tanning place. they will have all the right answers. I used to use Hymp loation. Its really good for you skin. Good luck, also only stay in for 10-12 mins, and go ever other day to let you skin heal in between. Tanning kills your skin cells and giving them a break every other day will prevent cancer and other skill diseases.

Spray on tan is better then tanning beds. I done spray on tan once.
I never done tanning bed. Someone said I wouldn't be allowed to because I have blond hair and red hair are banned from using them as they burn very easily.

they usually have the lotions or whatever at the tanning place, and you should just ask them, they know best. They also tell you the recommended time you should stay in, cause too long isen't good if you just started.

just get whatever they sell at the tanning store. try not to buy anything with bronzer in it, it will make you orange.
it doesn't really matter how long you stay in. because sun is sun... the less the better though.
