A heart with wings - and a flower crossing it.
If you are the flower of HIS heart - than the heart having wings will represent him and the flower crossing the heart wil represent the fact that he will always be with you.

Has it been at least a year or two since your grandfather passed away? If not, you should wait that long and then decide if you still want a memory of his cancer permanently inked into your skin. I'm sure your Grandpa would want to be remembered for something other than what the ugly cancer did to him. I don't recommend tattoos at all, but if you are set on having one at least wait until the dark heavy clouds of a cancer fight clear away and you have a pleasant memory of something that brought both you and your grandfather happiness and smiles.

Maybe tell him what you are doing....Maybe he will have some sort of idea and then you can always remember him helping you out and know that when you look at it its something you did together and that his heart was a part of....
I did a small heart with angel wings up to the sides around a chinese symbol that means love with his initials above the symbol....It sounds like a lot but its a cute lil design...He's my angel so it all fit together nice... (if you e-mail me I could send you the pic so you can have a better idea)
Hope this helped....

An outline of a flower with a heart in the center, and "Grandpa" in the heart. THe angel wings is nice too. So sorry to hear this, and this would be a lovely thing to do for him and you. God bless you.

You could do his name. I really like the flower of his heart, you should get something relating to that. Also, think about who he was and stuff he likeds. I got a shamrock for my grandmother, she was Irish and proud. My grandfather was Polish, so I'm thinking of getting a phrase in polish in honor of him. I was thinking of getting the Duck Tape duck for him (he was like the father in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, but with duct tape instead of Windex). Whoever you choose to do your tattoo should be able to create something for you.

you could do a flower inside of a heart.
my friend has a tattoo that says "you're my shining star" with a big star and underneath it says "i love you grandma"
you could do something like that "you're the flower of my heart"
it makes me want to cry. so sweet.

How about a heart, with a vine of his favorite flower wraped around it, and his name on one of the blooms.

get the angel wings with a heart in the middle or wings on the side of the heart and his birthdate in the middle of the heart or maybe tears falling from the heart and the wings with his name and b-date on it or below it.
