Saying it is lies is not quite true. The fact that it is not in the fiction section is the biggest lie. It is a great tome of stories that is supposed to help guide people along a better path. But the only lie is saying that the bible is truth.
The definition of an omnipotent God is grossly different than the god depicted in the bible. No god would create a place for one to "burn in eternity". So many people underestimate the amount of time in eternity without first thinking about it.

Perhaps more of the stuff here would be better in the Mythology & Folklore category. I'm serious. The bible was written by MEN, not god. Over centuries, it's been through awesome changes, contradictions, misinterpretations. Whatever feels "right" is chosen as truth. For example, (not the best analogy in the world but the sort of thing that comes to mind)~a stray bullet grazes a child's head & it's unharmed. The mother says: "It was the will of god." The bullet kills the child, & the mother says: "It was the will of god." You will not find logic here, my friend. Go to Philosophy, it's much better.

Mark Twain was only a man and had an opinion just like everyone else. I choose to believe the Word of God. The Word of God says that it rains on the just as well as the unjust. We can not decompartmentalize God on hardships. God in His infinite wisdom knows what is best for us.May God Bless U.

Like many words of wisdom or warnings, it is what you make it. For some people that verse and others may hold true. If you ask, what do you recieve? It doesn't say you will get what you ask for. You are asking for an answer, and will probably recieve many, that doesn't mean it is the answer you want to recieve.
Ironically, Jesus Freak says that evil and bad things come from the devil, but in basic theology, God made the devil. So who made evil?

You're demanding temporal (earthly, if you will) answers from an eternal being -- God's plan and solutions for us are within the context of eternity and His eternal plan -- our hope is not in this mere blip of our temporal existence, it is in eternity that you will find hope and a future -- quite frankly it is just arrogant to demand God give you or anyone else the specific answer you want, His plans for us and everyone else are beyond us and they part of a perfect mysterious plan which we from our tiny tiny, incredibly limited perspective cannot even begin to understand.
Do you really think there is a way for an infinite and eternal being to explain to you his plan for all places, times and people to satisfy yours or anyone else's individual issues?
In His incredible wisdom and grace he has provided a way for us to live with Him in perfection and eternity and yet so many seem unwilling to merely accept the most incredible gift imaginable because they, although entirely undeserving, will only accept it if they can dictate all of their petty concerns on The Infinite.

In my bible it gives a breakdown of what each thing is saying is modern terms. For the verse you use above it says: Jesus tells us to persist in pursuing God. People often give up after a few halfhearted efforts and conclude that God cannot be found. But knowing God takes faith, focus and follow-through, and Jesus assures us that we will be rewarded. Don't give up your efforts to seek God. Continue to ask him for more knowledge, patience, wisdom, love and understanding. He will give them to you.
I don't see any lies in that. I don't understand why children die either, but I am sure of where they all go. He needs that soul more than we do here on earth. It is not saying we will not suffer on earth, losing a child included, no matter how much you pray about it, but you can guarantee your soul reunited with that of your child by simply praying for God to make that so. Death is a fact of life no matter what your religious beliefs are, and unfortunately children are not invincible to it no matter what your beliefs are either.

That scripture is talking about knowledge. That child will be resurrected. I'm sorry you are bitter about the bible. It is a wonderful gift from our creator.

Those are just the words of men, in many cases ignorant and/or misinformed men. If you're looking for truth, look elsewhere.
