I play a violin. How hard would it be for me to learn the erhu? Can these be bought in the US? Can one teach themselves?

Hey Heron By the Sea,

The first web site is more for me than you. You can look at the playing technique listed there since you already play a violin, this should be understandable to you. Note that one of the subsequent sites has an MP3 of the sound when played properly. And one discusses purchase. I saw one for $1000, and one for under a hundred. I am sure you can find something in between.

Learning the drums is like learning to dance. Its fun, energetic and skill building. Ive been teaching drums for 14 years and still never had a student in capable of playing the beats we hear everyday on the radio. If your considering tuition and are in sydney thrn drop me an email. all the best. Luke
