My friend who is a dumb idiot didnt pay his parking tickets for like a month and a half. the police department called him and said he was a suspect in an open case. He responded and asked what it was about, THey then said back to him that it would be better if they explained it to him at the courthouse. He arrived and they arrested him.... Is this entrapment????? And could he possibly sue???

No.it's not. But what he could do is rig a booby trap like a 55 gallon barrel filled with pig feces above an abandoned buildings entrance. Call the PD anonymously and tell them that you noticed some suspicious activity there.

Hide and watch or film it for a good laugh. That's not entrapment either.

No

Entrapment would be inviting him to engage in a crime that he otherwise would have nothing to do with.

They did not entrap him unless they tricked him into parking illegally.

Nope. Police run things like this all the time. He was wanted for an existing crime and he presented himself in their jurisdiction.

Sometimes they do a cattle call for people like your friend saying they are giving away free sports tickets. It's not illegal. Too bad your friend was stupid.

Your friend is an idiot. If he was in fact a suspect, they would not ask him to come down. He would receive a subpeona or court order.
