I would like to say that I've never yelled at either of them, but the truth is, in my early teens, I did. I regret it now-but I think that's part of being an immature teenager. Now that I'm in my twenties, I refrain from such disrespectful behavior.

Oh my goodness no! When I was growing up screaming and yelling were prohibited by my brothers and me. My parents aren't perfect. In fact there is no such thing as a perfect parent, but my brothers and I loved and respected my parents. We would never do anything out of disrespect to them.

It was very refreshing to come across a subject matter that wasn't written by some selfish, self-centered "child" who believes their parents are idiots and not worth their love and respect. To be honest though I have, on occasion, be totally appalled by comments I have heard from parents regarding their children - I can't ever imagine wishing my children "would just go and leave me the h*ll alone" or to curse at them or to call them foul names. Respect is a two way street. Kudos to you for recognizing your parents and their efforts! Too bad there are not more like you in the world!!

I would never yell at my parents. It's really disrespectful, and doesn't get you anywhere. My parents and I used to disagree on a lot of things but they never yelled at me and I never yelled at them. The more you give respect the more you earn it. Being loud doesn't mean you're right!!!

Never could I do such a disrespectful thing. I have two sisters one is 42 the other is 34 and they yell and abuse our father like it is common practice. Luckily we all live in differrent states, so most of the abuse is over the phone, so dad can hang up on them. He only started to hang up on them because they were always doing it to him. Our dad is sweet, kind and a gentle loving man who does not deserve such treatment. My sisters are so sad in their life and care only about themselves. It is a wonder we were raised by the same man.

Children should not yell at their parents. Parents do not like to be yelled at by their children.

never! I'm 30 and my mom is still one of my closest friends. I talk to her at least once a day and live about 5 miles from her.
My dad, I wouldn't yell at him, but we're not very close

Very rarely. I do respect them, but they are human and make mistakes. They also taught me to speak my mind, and sometimes that escalates (both ways). I sure as hell yelled at my dad when he cheated on my mom, flaunted his whore around town and proceeded to ignore us (his children) for a good year or two. He understood my anger.
