u know it takes a lot to break a man's ego and a guy who either has been rejected or finds his ex hanging out with another finds it difficult to digest this fact. There's every possibility that ur ex might have brainwashed ur present boyfriend to take this drastic step. It doesn't take a minute for a guy to start assassinating a girl's character out of sheer ego and frustration BUT the important factor here is whether ur present boyfriend has the ability to think independently and have faith & trust in u which is so damn important in any relationship. If he is so immature to consider others' viewpoint and take such a drastic step then i m sorry to say buddy " He doesn't deserve u" so move on .........

first of all if he broke up with you then there was a reason and it
should not have been because of what someone else said or
did. if your ex and you were not doing any thing to make him
feel the way he did. . but if you really want to know then ask
him. but as for the ex. dont get back with him if you have doubts
about what going on.
