Why can't I cry? If you read my 2 most recent posts, you'll see I have mental problems and I have no problem showing any emotion. I can show sadness, but I can't cry, even when my grandmother died, i didnt cry.

I am going through the same thing -- in therapy i was told that i am emotionally un-attached to my problems - which could be a negative thing....for example you may feel as if you want to get your emotions out by physically harming yourself (please get help before you feel that you might harm yourself or others)...I think therapy would be a really good option for you - at least to get an evaluation - if you feel as if you can not talk to your parents try talking to another adult that you can trust - or work with that person to find a way to tell your parents...good luck and let me know if you need any help.

I am quite sure that you dont have a mental illness. Your only part in being mental is that you "think" you have a illness. But anyway with your crying. This did happen to me before and I realized that the reason I coulndt cry is because I actually wasnt allowing myself to actually feel any pain or sadness for the particular problem, I just kind of really ignored it for the most part because I didnt want to deal with it. If you are feeling this way it may be this reason. You dont want to actually go through the pain and hurt that comes with crying. I did this when my last boyfriend broke up with me, I was in denial that I was even dumped I "pretended" that I wasnt upset and it didnt bother me and I couldnt cry either. But then all of a sudden I felt like **** and balled my eyes out a month later. Hopefully this helps and let yourself know that it is ok to let go and get it all out. You sound like you are surpressing it. :-) and stop telling yourself that you have a mental illness. I just read your other question and you are simply having panic attacks and freaking yourself out. Go to a counsler just to talk about this do not get drugs prescribed. This is an issue you can deal with on your own. It sounds like your modeling and the stress of it and the fact that your brother is a person you didnt think he was, is a frightning thing for you to deal with at your age. In fact you shouldnt be around it at all, I am sure this scares you. But the best thing to do is to let your parents know about it before something potentially bad happens. He may be mad but your parents arent going to judge you they are going to be happy about what a great daugther they raised. Also the attacks you are having are a direct result of you caring too much about what other people think of you. Your modeling was a part of that because you are always had the pressure of being watched and being your best. Give your self some credit about your accomplishments and just feel good about yourself. All you need is a little more confindence and you will be fine.

My husband passed away 2 years ago and it was very hard for me to cry up until a year ago I have mental problems but I think it was more then that I think I was crying inside instead of out my heart hurt more then anything with all the memories and things that we did together it was hard. Crying was very very hard for me also there is nothing wrong with your eyes you just show your emotions differently then most you will be just fine.

I think it's a generational thing. People of our generation are exposed to so much violence and tragic events that eventually that feeling of sadness wears out, even if it's just a little bit. I know I felt the same way when my grandmother died not too long ago. I was saddened by her death but I couldn't bring myself to the tears. A good example of this is in the movie Garden State. Zach Braff mentions in a scene where he tried to cry because of her mother's sudden death but the tears couldn't come. The fact that he couldn't cry actually made him sadder. I hope that helps in understanding at least. Sorry to hear about your grandma's passing.

You can't cry cause your not associating her death with anything evidently. Your like thinking aww shes dead and there is nothing you can do about it.

If you want to cry focus on the things that you will miss the most about her...think about all the things you didn't say, and think about the things she did.

Your tearducks are infected, dried out and swolen not allowing you to produce tears because of something being wrong or not working with your tearduck glands. Go see an eye specialist to do tests on what you may have or need surgery on. It can be serious and taken care of ASAP.

I can only cry at movies. Pan's Labyrinth worked for me.

I'd say that you're just out of touch with your emotions. As long as you feel happy, don't worry about it too much.
