I asked can we control the temp. I do believe that pollution is doing something. You people are a bit egotistical and AL Gore is a politician not a scientist.

Your spouting stuff about cars and pollution yet the polutant from natural effects like volcanoes and forest fires / not caused by man are conveniently left out??

The American Association for the Advancement of Science clearly states the scientific opinion that humans are controlling the temperature of the planet, and that failure to change the way we are controlling it will be extremely costly for all of humanity.

I think mankind makes a impact on the Earth's climate but as of how much is the question. I do not think we are in control as much as politicians such as Al Gore would tell you..
The Global Warming scare is politically motivated and designed to take rights (particularly property) and authority from American citizens and give it to government.

Yes--that's exactly what's been happpening--we put so much CO2 in the atmosphere that we're creating a global warming effect. And that can be reversed by changing how we produce energy.
All the so-called "explanations" the neocons keep coming up with (volcanos, etc) don't change the facts. All those possibilities were considered by reputable scientists and ruled out--by using science, not warmed-over political ideology and oil company propaganda.

The specific heat of air is 1.005 Btu/lb-°F. The weright of the atmosphere up to 20,000 ft can be estimated as 1.14363E+14 tons, or 228,726,000,000,000,000 lb., so the specific heat of the lower atmosphere is 229,869,630,000,000,000 Btu/°F, or 67,351,195,429,241KWH/°F,
or 10,361 KWH per °F per person, which leads to the conclusion that it is hardly possible for humans to have a direct effect on the Earth's temperature.

We already ARE. We're deliberately warming up the climate by making MORE people, and creating MORE greenhouse gases in the polluting process. The day the World's population stabilizes, will be the day that global warming will begin to slow...

Of course. Things that we are doing now, such as polution and so on cause global warming. Global warming "Warms" the earth, causing warmer core temps. This is a very bad thing. There are things that we could do right now that would prevent this warming effect. Alternate forms of electricity. Non gas burning vehicles. So many different things. Many cities and states are actually doing something about global warming before it is too late.

There is no way that humans can have an affect on the temperature. We set off several HUGE
hydrogen bombs in the 50's and that made no difference.
