They are sexists and homophobes. Religion is just bigotry under a different mask.

Speaking ones beliefs is not offensive. Forcing them upon others is. Not ALL Christians are this way. You have come across people that label themselves Christian but do not act like one. They are as upsetting and disappointing to a real Christian as they are to a non-Christian; trust me!
I was raised a Catholic but have chosen a more unaffiliated, spiritual life with no religious label. I respect the faiths and beliefs of everyone which is why I take offense to people making statements that disgrace an entire religion.

I doubt that Christians are the only religion who exhibit this kind of behavior. My recommendation is not to look at the issue from a tolerance and understanding perspective. Many religions that seek out individuals to convert to their belief are very concerned that the person understands the penalties for unbelief. This makes them very vigorous in their presentation.
My recommendation is to respond from your own conviction that you DO already understand the basis for your faith and have intentionally chosen that religion to practice rather than whatever they believe. You have already made the choice and are not open to persuasion in a different direction.

I don't believe it's "so many" Christians, but I believe there are some bullies and rude people, or just people who are uninformed or misinformed. Since we can't change their ideas, thoughts or anything else about someone else, all we can do is ignore them. Now to your question as to why Christians believe that their religion is the only correct one, it's because ALL FAITHS by whatever bible, talmud, quoran or whatever are taught in it that theirs is the one and only and true religion....Why? because they all came from the same original faith. These are all religions. I read somewhere where Budhism is not a religion but it is a total way of life.

I think many of you who are spouting scripture to defend your positions need to read this individuals explanation again. He mentions that he has been harassed by Christians...I believe some one mentioned that Christians were "sharing their faith". There is a big difference between sharing the faith and harassment. I also know of Christians who do the same thing to others. I think many of you need to go back and read your bibles again and ask yourself this: What is Jesus' true message? I think you will find it is no different than the message that this Tibet Buddhist receives in his practice of religion.

I think, that most christians think their religion is the only correct one, because it is what they are taught. Although harrasing others isnt' right, by any means, the way christians, in a general stand, are taught it to try and witness and convert people to christ. The bible says that Jesus is the only way to heaven, that he is the father, and the forgiver. As christians they are suppsed to follow a certain path and tried to lead others along that path with them. Being that he is the One way, is seems, most just take that and don't take other view points very seriously, or repectfully at that.

Why would I flame you? Your theory of a great number of Christians are undesirable, i'm sorry you have been flamed by ability of a few "Christians" in the previous yet I won't do this =) So there are lots of people who do incorrect issues that they suspect to be top. That became into the way it became into for the Christians and the close by individuals. The Christians of that element did no longer incredibly could wisdom or wisdom as we did. additionally, remember that the guidelines of society and top vs. incorrect became into very very diverse from that's now. i'm ashamed of my ancestors for doing that to the close by individuals. First evolution ability that one being is changing to an entire different being. there is not any evidence of that for the period of modern-day circumstances. there is evidence that a species adapts diverse features as a manner to stay to tell the story. it incredibly is named version and maximum Christians do no longer dispute version. the two sides are closed minded to different's ideals, which will by no ability exchange. scientific "data" has by no ability pointed me in yet another direction. I truthfully have studied and delivered an identical training as you have, yet I nevertheless see no data. With the Begotten project, that's some thing that no human can ever wrap their brains around. that is an identical in that human beings can no longer think of that area is going on and on and on and has no end. regardless of the undeniable fact that, human beings do no longer dispute that. nicely for one the Bible ought to no longer in all probability have been written by ability of one guy at one time. study have shown that the bible is diverse books that selection over years and years of time, however the story maintains to be an identical. the only answer I truthfully have on your questions in this paragraph is: faith. You the two have it or you do no longer and that i do exactly. it is so basic as that. i wish I helped. =)

Well you said much of what I was going to say. I'm glad you only hold the stupid accountable - and not the good faithful Christians for actions of the few. Real Christians know to respect others.
The few Christians that are offensive to others - I can't defend their actions, but perhaps they think they have actual evidence, while other religions (being older) somehow lack true evidence of GOD being in their midst, as Jesus was. The painting are to abstract for them to understand, many aspects are too hard to grasp. So they treat other religions as myths or lore. Not real accounts of GOD visiting earlier, and to others.
Best guess.

It's mostly because the steam-roller that is Christianity was never properly challenged back when it was just a fledgling religion based around tales of "miracles" and awe-inspiring fantastical feats of fancy. Back in the times of knowing that your life-span were less than your mule's and that a deadly warlord could come and sack your village at any moment, I could see where a religion based around getting into paradise when you die by just "believing" it could be appealing. No one stopped it from speading mouth to mouth and eventually the leaders (Mostly the sons of said warlords who would sack villages.) who believed in Christianity made it their "God-given right" to spread the word across the land...by force, if necessary. A religion with an army of millions behind it will eventually rule everything....and also lead to mass arrogance.
...And thus we have millions and millions of Christians who believe that they are far more superior just because their religion has outlasted (Read: annihilated by force.) pretty much every religion to this point. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
As an Athiest/Pagan/Satanist (Yeah, I'm still trying to figure that all out.) I will say that I will respect any other religion out there in as much as the followers of said religion do not decide to bring it to my door step and try to brow-beat me with it.

When a person believes something in to the depths of their being they have no choice. Christians worship God that lives within them, changes them and loves them. All I can say is that the things God has done in my life I can't help but talk about it. I am not one to push or force my beliefs on others. One of my best friends is an atheist, she is always trying to shove evolution down my throat and it really upsets me. To the point that we haven't talked for the past 3 weeks. I save what God gave me for those who want it. It is a spiritual sinkhole to try to pour into someone who is not accepting or seeking.

Since Christians believe in Heaven and Hell, they believe non-believers are going to Hell. Hence, this makes theirs correct. Because of this belief, they believe it gives them the right to be pushy.
One needs to understand that Christians do not all agree. A lot of them believe there church is the only one going to heaven.
But, regardless of a person's beliefs, we need to accept each other. We should help them achieve their goals. If we each began helping one person everyday, you would notice a difference in a very short time.
