Hair color and age?

Question

I am pale with very light blue green eyes.
I just turned 30 but look young for my age (or so I thought)
I had been dyeing my hair strawberry blonde for years.
Recently wanted a changed and I switched to a light golden brown with a few dark golden blond highlights.
All of a sudden people keeping saying I look young and Im getting treated like Im younger.
How can hair color make such a difference ?
And why is a now darker haircolor making me look younger ?
I would think the blonde made me looked younger before.
This very close to my natural hair color (a righ golden brown)
so maybe that's why...........

And its strangers making comments not my friends or family.

Because people think that older people don't usually dye their hair.

My guess is that the comments are made as social pleasantry. After all, are they really going to tell you that you now look older? Basically, you probably look the same age no matter what your hair color will be. The appearance of the skin, weight and health are bigger factors that affect how young a woman looks.

Well, if this is closer to your natural color, it makes sense. :) It probably matches your natural tones better, creating a subconciously more "put together" look. Maybe the old color looked forced on an unconcious level? You know, you can look at a person sometimes and just know that's not their real hair color, and dying your hair is something many people associate with greying, which equals age... Your natural color probably keys into a more youthful, complete, and natural look. :)
