Generally, anything related to video games might be good, or something like a remote control car. I would personally recommend a slot car racing set. Also, anythign edible. Growing boys inhale food. Some guys might like soemthing like a bb gun, but you'd definitely want to get the parents' permission first. If none of these sound good, there's a whole bunch of websites that have a ton of gift ideas for various age groups and occassions, such as findgift.com or redenvelope.com, or you can probable Goggle "gift" and find more sites.

I normally give gift cards because kids seem to enjoy picking out their gifts just as much as opening a present. My kids just went to a birthday party yesterday and they gave their friend money in a card. When I picked up my kids their friend ran up to me saying how much money he received at his party. (his mom did tell him he shouldn't do that) but he was just very excited about how much money he gets to go spend! I would suggest a gift card or money. Good luck!

Offer to take him shopping for what he would like. Money is great, but time spent together is even better. I got my nephew skiing lessons for his 13th two years ago and now we go skiing together as no one else in the family is into it. We have a great time together,

a gift card to basically any store that sells electronics, or a video game, depending on the platform he uses, and if you have a really large budget, a next gen platform.

He would probably like giftcards to nice places: Best Buy, Abercrombie, or any other game store. He would probably like an iPod or MP3 player. If you get him an iPod or MP3, give him iTunes or Napster money with it.

Money. Just give him money. That's all they really care about. Unless you can get him a girl then do that but otherwise just go the simple route.
