i wrote a poem for a girl i knew. I lost contact with her when i changed schools and recently i met her again and i have her contacts. I like her again and wonder if i should send her the poem i wrote. I think its a good poem with no sexual inuendo or content. It is personal though. I wonder if its appropriate to send it. I met her again for about a month.

i think poems are absolutly adorable... do it.... and if it a poem of your heart... and she doesnt appreciate it.... then the doesnt deserve your heart.... simple as that.... just prepare yourself..... some girls dont like that..... idk who doesnt but some dont...... so i think do it.... what do you have to lose other than a chick who doesnt care about you expressing your feelings???? hmmmmm???

Sad to say, without a sample to judge, my first impression is that most "poetry" belongs in a sock drawer somewhere. Poetry is emotion crystallized after due reflection. It is not how you feel, but how you can make the other person respond.
Avoid rhymes and cliches. Cut back on the words. Give it to someone who is a poet and let them help.
In any case, I am certain you will give it to her. Equally certain that she will say something banal, read it once, show all her girl friends... Pardon me, ignore my skepticism. Sure, send it to her but first check for correct spelling and punctuation

Slow down, Romeo--you have no idea what or who this girl is---a poem is nice but she may not be the poetry type--doesn't matter what it says--she may think youi are weird or sappy--you know, it's cute but not very real. Call her up, go have some real fun--be a man and see what's up with her--save the poem for a holiday card. good luck

If you are pretty much strangers that only occasionally meet in passing, that might seem a bit weird. However if you are aquantances and you have attractions for her, go ahead! Some girls like it, some aren't crazy about it, but most will at least appreciate the thought.

I would send it to her and let her know you wrote it for her and tell her when. Let her know you wanted her to have it and then let her make the next move. Good luck.
