i just found a nice project/drag car i want but the guy says something happened to the title????but the cars been sitting for 7 years in his front yard with a lien on it is the lien stil on it?ho would i get a title for this car with the lien?can i apply for abandoned car title like he suggested?the car is a 1981 how would i get the title?any help appreciated thanks very much!!

You have to find if there is a lien on it first,if there is and you want it pay the lien.Then apply for a lost title.

Is it possible that he has satisfied the loan on it but never had the paperwork changed w/lien release?
otherwise i would have to think somebody would have come looking for that car.
If after 7yrs you had to still satisfy the lien they would probably consider taking way less by now probably wrote it off as a lost cause so they would be happy w/anything.

Take the license number or the VIN number and contact your state's licensing agency, they can tell you if a legal owner/lien holder is on the current title. From there, it all depends on if there is a lien or not. Good luck.

You need to pay off the lien.
Or, you can buy it, but the bank will come after you if you have the title to it.
