It sounds like you are suffering from a low level of depression called dysthymia. There are three approaches for treating depression: counseling, antidepressants, and a combination of the two. Some people benefit most from counseling, others only improve with antidepressants. Talk to your parents to set up an appointment. with your usual doctor, and explain to him or her what you have said here. You might also have the doctor talk to your parents, so you can all agree on a treatment approach.
Counseling usually takes a while before you gain the ability to combat the depression, so it is usually to begin with antidepressants. Finding the right antidepressant is trail and error. Wellbutrin or Prozac are common choices to start with. Each has side effects, so people often switch if he side effects are too much.

Someone somewhere along the way gave you the impression that we have to grow up. That's a lie. You may be grieving for the loss of childhood. So, stop doing that. Go back a few notches and be a happy little kid again. Seriously. Hold on to your child-self and drag it kicking and screaming into the future with you. But, start cheering up by playing with toddlers. Research has shown that one of the reasons why adolescent girls feel depressed and hopeless is because . . .duh . . .they don't have enough hands-on time with little children. Just try it. You'll see what I mean. But, I recommend not getting your "dose" of little children from babysitting only. To make this FUN for yourself, visit a nursery school and volunteer to romp with the children, literally just to romp with them, cuddle and smootch on them rather than have responsibilities. You'll be so welcomed. To little ones, you are a fairy princess from the Land of Grown-Up Pretty Ladies. They are all so agog over girls your age. Get your chin up, chickadee. All's good and well in the world as long as we believe in fairy princesses. Or, as long as we can be someone else's fairy princess. Dress pretty. Extra make-up. Dazzle the little gigglepusses.

Don't grow up too quickly. That's the best advice I can give you, sweets. You have your entire life ahead of you. My little boy is eight and is being picked on and being called a baby because he likes to play with Transformers and play outside....by kids his own age. Kids are trying to become adults too quickly. You have a long life ahead of you - enjoy it! :)

truthfully, that is how life is. i think that instead of fooling yourself, you are seeing life as it is. you'd be fooling yourself if you thought you were content. Not that happiness is impossible, but that childhood happiness fades as we grow. good luck.

You may need counseling, talk-therapy, rather. It could be really good for you, especially at this age.
