I had one egg that was rubbery in the group I boiled. Will it cause a problem?

As a professional chef, I go with one VERY simple and effective motto...."when in doubt, throw it out" I doubt that there is a problem with the egg, but if you feel more comfortable not consuming it, then that is the best way to go. As a side note, certain types of food poisoning ARE NOT killed by cooking at a high heat. Botulism, and other viral food borne illnesses can actually survive the cooking process and still cause illness. Ciguatera (forgive my spelling, its late here) which is a common problem with tropical fish is a prime example.

So again, to re-cap, I doubt there is an issue with the single egg, but better safe and inside your comfort zone than to take an unneeded risk.
